McCain Proposes 2nd GOP Debate in Arizona
Campaign Will Redouble Efforts to Find Date Next Year for All
                  Candidates

PHOENIX, AZ-The day after the first presidential debate in Arizona, GOP presidential candidate
U.S. Senator John McCain today said his campaign will redouble its efforts to find a second Arizona
debate date early next year which will include all the GOP candidates.

Below is a Statement from John McCain:

"Like each of the two previous debates that I've participated in, yesterday each presidential candidate
was given the opportunity to present his view on a number of important issues confronting our
country. While helpful, last night's debate was missing two candidates who were unable to attend. In
the second Arizona debate scheduled for next month, a prior commitment will keep me from attending
and provide yet another incomplete picture of the GOP field in Arizona.

"As Arizona's senior Senator, I am committed to bringing the full field of candidates to my home state
                  for a debate.

"We need to give the voters of this state an opportunity to judge all of us-side by side. That is why
I've instructed my campaign manager, Rick Davis, to reach out to each campaign, to find a date to
return to Arizona early in the new year.

"I know that each candidate wants to have an open, honest and fair debate in Arizona. With a primary
date scheduled for late February, I believe a debate early next year would give voters the opportunity
to compare the candidates for President on one stage.

"I'm hopeful that the other candidates in this race will work with my campaign to give Arizonans the
                  opportunity they deserve."
